They were the parents of 2 children, a son born in 1883 and a daughter born in 1885. Both children died in early childhood.
While the 1900 census reported that Anna was the mother of 2 living children out of 2 births, it should have said that neither were still living. Salem church records also confirm that both of the children died young.
Ferd's wife, Anna, died in 1909.

After Anna's death, Ferd married Augusta Heyer. They were the parents of 3 children. In 1911, Ferd owned a large dance hall in Black Jack.
Augusta died in 1926.

Ferd died of liver cancer 2 days after the marriage of his daughter, Selma, to Elmer Witte.
At the time of his death, Ferd was 76 years, 7 months and 13 days old. He was buried on 09 Jan 1934.
