James Butler Fife, Jr

  • Birth 12 May 1882 Pembroke, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, USA
  • Death 21 Sep 1918 Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA
  • Burial Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA
  • Memorial ID 44091258

James Butler Fife, Jr was the son of James Butler and Olivine (Boudreau) Fife, and brother to Hattie L. (Fife) Baker (my maternal Grandfather's 1st wife).

Once believed to have been KIA in WWI, further research and evidence has revealed that he died in Brockton, MA.

At the time of his death, James was a "Shoe Operative", and living in the boarding house where his sister and ex-brother-in-law had lived, as well as the man whom James considered a close friend, and who claimed James' body when he passed away -- John Baptist "George" Guyette, a police officer who, sadly, was killed in the line of duty about one year after James' death (see find-a-grave memorial # 101123943).

James Butler FIFE, jr, was the last of his nucleus family, with his parents and siblings having preceded him.

May you rest in peace.
