Car kills Murray woman walking on 3900 South

SOUTH SALT LAKE -- A Murray woman died Thursday after she was hit by a car while walking in the westbound lanes of 3900 South.

Killed in the 7:15 a.m. accident was: Angelica Ccosi-Cutipa, 25, 820 W. 3900 South. South Salt Lake Police Capt. Beau Babka said investigators don't know why the woman was walking in the roadway of the busy thoroughfare.

The victim suffered multiple injuries in the accident and was taken by helicopter to University Hospital, where she died a couple of hours later.

Angelica Ccosi-Cutipa

Angelica Ccosi-Cutipa, age 25, died January 7, 1999 of injuries received in an auto-pedestrian accident.

She was born January 20, 1973 in Puno, Peru.

She was an active member of the LDS Church, she loved people, enjoyed sewing, friends and church service. She lived in Silversprings, Maryland where she was converted to the gospel of the LDS church and where she served a Stake Mission and was called to serve a full-time California Sacramento, Mission. She moved to Salt Lake City following her mission where she worked for Premier Movers and was planing to further her education.

Survivors include her father, Pablo Ccosi, Peru; sister, Yolanea, Peru; close friends, Marcela Cevallos, Cary Carreras, Monica Carvajal, all of Salt Lake City; also Elders Tripoli, Galvan and Rasmussen, and Roger White, Juliana De La Oliva, Carla Castillo, the Raul Aguerie family of Tracy, CA, and many other friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 1999 at 12 noon at the Lee LDS ward, 3808 So. Main Street, where friends may call Wednesday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made for final expenses to any branch of 1st Security Bank in her name.
