Funeral services for E.Q. Warren were held at 10:30 am in Knox City Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sinclair of Merkel, officiating, assisted by the Rev. D.J. Foster of Knox City. Burial was in Merkel Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home. Ellis Quitman Warren, 92, a longtime Knox City businessman, died at 1 am Saturday in Knox County Hospital where he had been a patient the past three weeks. Born September 20, 1876 Coryell Co., TX, he moved to Knox City & established the first Ford agency with his brother H.M. Warren in 1917. They sold the car agency & about 1925, E.Q. purchased the funeral home here from Bryant Link, which operated until July, 1957 when he sold the establishment to E. Hob Smith. Mr. Warren married Miss Evelyn Williams March 21, 1921 in Marshall, Missouri. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge, receiving his fifty-year Masonic pin last year. Survivors include his wife of the home, his brother, H.M. also of Knox City, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Walter Thomas, Paul Hoge, Joe M. Clonts,J.C.
