Carrie Louisa (Baker) Hicks was the daughter of Charles Wilson and Abbie D. (Tripp) Baker. She married John Hicks in Dec 1885. She was the sister of Daniel Albert Baker, Arthur W. Baker, Isabella T. (Baker) Sisson, and Mary A. Baker, and she would have been my first cousin, 3x removed.

Carrie Louisa and John Hicks had three children of their own: Clara Wilson Hicks, Louisa Baker Hicks, and Charles A. Hicks.

I have found Carrie's family plot in the Maple Grove Cemetery (thank you to the Westport Lore Project).... Unfortunately, John C. Hicks doesn't seem to be listed there, so I do not know where he is buried. But, there is an unusual story there... according to NEHGS records, Carrie and John got married in 1885, but by the 1900 census, John no longer appears --- Carrie lists herself as "married" in the 1900 and 1910 census. By the 1920 Census, she is listed as "widowed". This one's a mystery......

The last internment is shown to be Carrie's grandson Linwood Baker Sherman [the son of Clara Wilson (Hicks) Sherman], in 2003.
