Clyde T. Harter, 72, of 303 W. 38th St. was pronounced dead on arrival yesterday at the Delaware Division.

Mr. Harter was born in South Carolina. He retired in 1958 as a painter. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion Delaware Post 1. He had lived in Wilmington for 46 years.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Della A. Harter of Smyrna; three brothers, Joseph L. Columbia, S.C., J.C. of Statesville, N.C., and Hugh P. with whom he lived; and four sisters, Miss Janie Lucille Harter and Mrs. Henry Winkler, both of Hickory, N.C., Mrs. Calvin King of Wilmington; and Mrs. Joseph Hale of Laurel.

Services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 at the McCrery Funeral Home, 2700 Washington St. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
