Norma Jean Fletcher, 82, of Modesto, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Passavant Area Hospital.
Norma was born on November 2, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude Bailey Brown. She married Stanley E. "Smiley" Fletcher on April 18, 1948.
She is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Stanley Fletcher, her daughter, Delores (Jerry) Patterson, and two granddaughters: Miranda and Haylie Patterson, all of Modesto, four sisters: Barbara (John) Burnell of Jacksonville, Virgie Heriford of Waverly, Evelyn (Dick) Johnson and Josephine Druktenis, both of California, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Johnny, Eddie, Rob, Herman, and Leonard Brown, and four sisters: Mildred Roberts, Frances Green, Louise Jeffers, and Leona Piercy.
Norma was a homemaker and a member of the Modesto United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday February 10, 2011 at Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra with burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Modesto. The family will meet friends from 4-7pm on Wednesday at the funeral home, and memorial contributions may be made to the Northwestern Area Rescue Squad.
