JOYCE A. KOCH, 57, of Auburn, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, after her courageous three year battle with multiple myeloma, at her parents home surrounded by her family. She was born on Feb. 8, 1952, in Van Wert, Ohio.
She was a graduate of DeKalb High School and received her B.A from IPFW. She was currently employed as a transcriptionist at DeKalb Memorial Hospital for the last 14 years and had previously worked in the accounting department at the Auburn Foundry for five years, Dioceses of Fort Wayne-South Bend, U.S. Postal Service Remote Encoding Center and Mutual Securities Life Insurance Company for 20 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed the company of her nieces and nephews. Her hobbies were sewing, gardening, fishing, cooking and reading.
Surviving are her parents, Vitus and Ruth (Minick) Koch of Auburn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Debra Koch of Spencerville, Anthony Koch and his companion, Kathy Patton of Auburn and William and Alicia Koch of Auburn; a sister, Maureen Koch of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, with visitation one hour prior, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. 7th Str., Auburn. Visiting also from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pinnington-McComb Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main St., Auburn. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Auburn.
