The Passing of Mrs. Allen
---Mrs. Ethan Allen who had been in failing health for many months, passed away at the family residence in Mansion street last evening at 7:30 o'clock.
---Elida Burland was born in Eckford township in 1866, and had spent most of her life in Marshall. She was united in marriage with Ethan Allen March 3d, 1886. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Umstad, of this city, and Mrs. C. S. Larned, of Battle Creek; also one sister, Mrs. Willis Blue, of Clarendon, and two brothers, W. S. Burland of Detroit, and Phil Burland, of Newton township. Mrs. Allen was a member of Trinity church, the Eastern Star, and the Amity Birthday club. She had many friends by whom she was held in highest esteem, and who deeply regret her passing.
---The funeral will occur from the house on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, the Rev R. F. Keicher officiating. Interment will be given in Oakridge.
