Bertha was born in Blue Mound Township on Sept 8, 1881, the daughter of Robert and Mary Hudelson. She was married in Decatur on March 3, 1906, to William G. Smith, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Burt, Decatur, and Miss Roberta L. Smith, Chicago, three sisters, Mrs. Mina Miller, Decatur, Mrs. Anna Ross, Boody, and Mrs. Clara Warnick, Pana; three brothers, Kyner and Grover Hudelson, both of Decatur and Will Hudelson, Newkirk, Okla; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A son, Dean Smith, died in 1947.
