Branch of Service: U. S. Army Engineers Robert served in Guadalcanal and then to New

Britain to build bridges and roads. They had their own saw mill and cut trees. They cut an average of 15000 board feet a day. Of the 96 men that left from the 115th, 28 men stayed together to the end. He was then rotated back for a months stay in the United States at Tulelake, California. He was assigned to the Tulelake Japanese internment camp.

He had what may have been a Cerebral Hemorrhage while guarding the Japanese.

He died on the 13th day of February 1945. And his body was sent home for burial.
