Born Oct. 20, 1915 in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of John Pearson and Josie Dixon.
A homemaker, she was a member of Gosport Christian Church and Millgrove Conservation Club.
She married Ernest Frye, who died in 1972, and Russell A. Whitaker, who died in 1986.
Surviving are three stepsons, Ernest Frye Jr., Francesville, Loren Whitaker, Greenwood, and Ervin "Buck" Whitaker, Martinsville; two stepdaughters, Mary Frances Adams, Lebanon, and Betty Driscoll, Lafayette; and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six step-grandchildren, six brothers, five sisters, one half-sister, and one half-brother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Gosport, with Rev. Norman Ward officiating. Burial will be in Gosport Cemetery.
