Requiem Mass for Mrs Susan Childs was held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the St Michaels Catholic Church in Reardan with the Rev John O'Brien officiating. Rosary services were Wednesday. Interment was at Spring Creek Cemetery with Hazen-Jaeger Funeral Home in charge. Mrs Childs died at a Spokane hospital Sunday evening following an illness of only a few hours from a heart condition. She attended her church in the morning and was stricken early in the afternoon and taken to the hospital where she died minutes later. Born in Dakota, Wisconsin, she came west with her parents locating at Reardan. She married John E Childs Nov 24, 1911 who survives at the home. She was a member of the St Michael Catholic church, Spring Creek Grange and the Neighbors of Woodcraft. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs Mildred Greifendorff, son-in-law, Ottis Greifendorff, grandson John Greifendorff of Seattle and numerous nieces and nephews. The pass bearers were R A McClure, V C McClure, B L Flood, George J Hein, Nelson Raymer and Verne Denson of Davenport. (Davenport Times: 9-19-1963)
