She was adopted by Robert and Vealla Proctor Martin. She was an only child and loved her parents dearly. She never looked for her "birth" parents.

She was the sunday school teacher for the "older" kids. It wasn't that I didn't like Margaret Giles (who always gave juicy fruit gum), but I couldn't wait to be a "big kid" and be in Francis classroom.
