Service for D.L. Allen, Jr., 59, of Decatur was held Saturday, June 16, at Fundamental Baptist Church followed by burial at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur.
The Rev. Monty Martin and the Rev. Omar Richie officiated. Pallbearers were Dr. J.A. Lynn, Dr. Joe Barns, Johnny Young Sr., Raymond Gann, Garry Bible, and Ricky Stutt.
Mr. Allen was born in Denton of June 11, 1931. He married Melba J. Quisenberry on Dec. 15, 1953 in Decatur. He died June 13 at the V.A. Hospital in Dallas.
Survivors include his wife, Melba; two daughters, Sherea McGuire and Renee Cobb both of Decatur; two sisters, Una Mae Shurbet of Denton and Lorene Worley of Washington State; and four grandchildren, Kenny and Kirk Green and Donny and Shaunda McGuire.
