Andrew became a resident of Cole Co, MO, in 1828 & located where the town of Elston, Cole Co, MO, now stands, the place taking its' name from him.
He was a Justice of the Peace. He was Judge of the County Court. He was a State Legislator. The railroad went through his land & a trading point grew, the stop known as "Elston Station, & later shortened to Elston, MO.
He moved to Howard Co, MO, in 1817, of which part later became Boone Co, MO. He was the Adjutant General of MO. He refused the nomination for Governor of MO. He served as the MO State Auditor.
He was hurt by a horse & died on the morning of his 72nd birthday.
