18 years later, Jen passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009, due to complications of her brain damage, combined with DIC Infection. Two nights previous, she experienced a particularly severe and long-lasting seizure (as was common; epilepsy was an effect of her handicap) and had to be removed to the hospital (Valley Medical Center) by ambulence. Her body was in a coma of its own accord, but she was heavily sedated anyway. Because of this seizure, she was bleeding internally, but the blood did not clot due to the infection, and she passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, after never opening her eyes again.
Jennifer leaves behind both her father and mother, John Preston and Maxene Marie (Booher) Ramey, her older sister, Diana Smith (wife of Brian "Bubba" Smith) and two nieces and one nephew.
