He was born January 26, 1928 in Perry County, MO, son of William E. and Anna (Jannin) Kiefer. He and Mary Lou Prost were married on October 23, 1954. She preceded in death on March 14, 2007.
Wallace was a farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and sexton of St. Joseph Catholic cemetery in Highland, MO. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post 133 and MFA. He was an U. S. Navy veteran of WW II.
Survivors include five children, Leo (Sandy) Kiefer, Ray (Kim) Kiefer, Bonnie (Bob) Riehn all of Perryville, Wayne (Karla) Kiefer of Sedgewickville, Margie (Randy) Sammons of Fenton, MO; one brother, William V. Kiefer of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Leona Kiefer and Anna Laura Weinkein.
Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, May 29 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with parish wake at 5:00 pm and American Legion Wake at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday, May 30 from 6:30 to 8:35 am with rosary at 7:30 am. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:15 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland with Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating. Burial in church cemetery. Military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133 and MO Delta Team.
