Eliza Maye, or "Maye" as she preferred to be called, was the oldest daughter of Rosa Dell (Beekman) and James Milton Easter. Her sister was Mrs. Frances Marie (Easter) Crews.

OBITUARY: Mound City News, dated 26 January 1992:

Mound City, MO --------- Maye Chaney, 86, Mound City, died Friday, January 24, 1992, at a health-care center. A lifelong resident of Holt County, MO., Mrs. Chaney had lived in Mound City since 1980.

She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mound City; and the Sunshine Club of Big Lake. MO.

Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Chaney, in 1980; a sister, Marie Crews; and a son, Donald E. Chaney, in 1945.

Surviving: a son, James R. Chaney of Kansas City, MO; a granddaughter; and two great-grandsons. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Pettijohn-Crawford Funeral Home, Mound City
Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City, MO.
Visitation: after 2 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
