Mrs. Minnie Belle Ellis of 616 Central St., Newton, passed away at 2:55 a.m., Sunday at the home of her daughter in Clay Center, Kansas at the age of 67 years, having been born January 20, 1877 in Cassville, Mo.

Mrs. Ellis was an employee of Methodist Children's Home, before going to Clay Center, seventeen months ago to live with her daughter Mrs. Ida C. Drantman. Additional children include a son Alfred C. Ellis of this city: Homer V. Ellis of San Pedro, Calif., and Mrs. LaVerne E. Cook of Garden City, Kansas.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, at 4:00 o'clock at the Moody Funeral Chapel, with Rev. G. Luther Coppedge and Rev. J. E. Coe, officiating. Burial will take place in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.

Her mother was Frances Jane Stroud 1856-1940. Married John Thornton in Missouri in 1878 one other daughter Lillie Mae.
