Ryan Mortuary obituary."It's a Day thing." This is a quote that my great grandmother would always say to her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Elizabeth "June" Day was born on June 24th, 1930. She was born in the small town of Carlton, Kansas. Her maiden name was Eisele. June's family ancestry and nationality is from Germany. She lived there in Carlton most of her adolescent life and graduated from Carlton High School in the year 1948. She later met her future husband, Forrest "Frostie" Day while she worked as a soda jerk, which is someone who operates a soda fountain in a drug store to serve flavored drinks. The couple later got married in 1948 and stayed together for a long marriage until Frostie passed away in 1978. They had four children together; Larry, Paul, Mike, and Connie. June raised her family in Salina, Kansas where her kids went to school. As an adult, she worked at Brown Mackie College for most of her life until she retired. In her later years she loved supporting her great grandkids in all of their activities even though she couldn't make it there in person. She would watch VHS recorded tapes of them at music concerts, playing sports, and all other activities they participated in.
June Day passed away on July 4th, 2008 at 78 years old. She was preceded in death by her son Paul in1999 and her granddaughter Becky in 2001. She was survived by three children, five grandkids, and 10 great grandkids. She was a kind, loving, cool, motorcycle riding woman. They family may not have been ready for her to leave, but she will stay in our hearts forever.
