The son of Friedrich Wilhelm Ahring, Sr. and Anna Marie Wilhelmine Keisker, "Fred" was baptized on 11 Sep 1859 in Dissen, Germany.

Fred came to the United States from Germany in 1880 and settled in north St. Louis County, Missouri. He worked as a farm hand for Charles Kuske.

Fred passed away 23 days after his 75th birthday due to arteriosclerosis and other heart/kidney related conditions. He was buried on 22 Sep 1934.

Fred never married.
