Agnes Bell McDowell, known as "Aggie" McDowell, age 105, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away Thursday evening, September 20, 2007 at War Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.
The former Agnes Norton, aka, Aggie Norton, was born June 25, 1902 in a town called Larch, Michigan just outside Dafter to the late Alfred Norton and Ellen (McKiddie) Norton. As a child, Agnes worked on the family farm and walked the two and a half miles to school and church in Larch. In 1922, Agnes married John Pesola and together they farmed in Dafter before moving to the Soo in 1945. She was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Blue Star Mothers, and the The Eastern Star.
Agnes McDowell was survived by one son; John (Lila) Pesola of Brimley, MI, one daughter; Josephine (Henry) Bouvet of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, a daughter-in-law; Louise Pesola of Waterford, MI 9 grandchildren; Linda Curtis, Karen Boger, Arla Sutton, Randy Pesola, Jason Pesola, Bonnie Walsh, Ray Bouvet, Debbie Sutton, and Gordie Pesola. 21 great-grandchildren; Mark and Gary Curtis, Deanna Kreski, Jim Sutton, Tara Mann, Cori and Cassey Sutton, Tracy, Kelly, and Kenny Pesola, Tara Parrish, Brook Pesola, Lance Walsh, Chris Ball, Elizabeth Brigham, Alison Crawford, Robin Sorquist, Steve Sutton, Shanna Sutton, Jarrett Pesola, Katelyn Pesola. 20 great-great grandchildren; Sara, Jessica, and Nathan Curtis, J.J.
