HALLS - Clydie L. Cates, 82, retired postal employee, died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital of Dyersburg after a long illness. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Halls Funeral Home with burial in Halls Cemetery. He taught Sunday school at Enon Baptist Church and was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association. Mr. Cates, the husband of Virginia Doris Hilliard Cates, also leaves three daughters, Lannette Hilliard, Nina Bowie and Judy Newman, and a son, Danny E. Cates, all of Halls; a sister, Rebecca Morris of Memphis, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
