Jones was born September 7, 1917 in Storm Lake, Iowa. He married Helen Valdeen Poteet on December 24, 1942 in Weatherford. He was a Boyd resident for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Jones of Boyd; one daughter, Mary Cornwall of Fort Worth; a brother, Ralph M. Jones of Houston; three sisters, Helen V. Henley of Oaktown, Virginia, Ruth Pace of Albuquerque, New Mexico, ?arian Wright of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; three grandchildren.
