Mildred Audrey (Koontz) Beckley, 94, of Plainfield, went to her heavenly rest on May 2, 2012 following a long battle, supervised by hospice and assisted by daughters and family members. She was born October 11, 1917 to the late Earl and Audrey Koontz in Indianapolis, IN.

She graduated from Acton High School in 1935 where she fell in love with her surviving husband, Floyd E. Beckley, who graduated in 1934. They were married May 21, 1937 at Acton Methodist Church.

She is also survived by three daughters, Nancy Jayne Arnold, Jerri Wallace, and Charla Sue (Larry) Minnick; 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild.

Mildred was an active member of the Avon Communty Church of God. She was a teacher of children 64 years. Her choir sang at Clowes Hall in Indianapolis.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Friday, May 4 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial, Rocklane Cemetery, Greenwood.
