Wava Helen Carter, daughter of George and Volina Breshears Carter, was born at Rimby, Polk County, MO., December 24, 1908, and passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 1995, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar, MO.

She was converted at the age of 12 and was a loyal and active member of the Preston United Methodist Church for many years. she always enjoyed teaching in Sunday School, Vacation bible School, youth groups and participated in all church activities.

Wava was a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO., and was a member of the Alumni Association each year. She spent 46 years in classrooms at Louisburg, Preston and Hickory County R-1. She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association, the Hickory County RTA; the Missouri RTA and the National RTA.

After her retirement, she was interested in school and attended many activities to keep in touch with her students and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lloyd, Linford and Linvel; two sisters, Hazel Barclay and Tabitha Miller; and many relatives and friends.

She is survived by nine nieces and nephews and their families, and cousins and close friends.
