Barbara Weast was born October 9, 1850, dau. of Jacob and Barbara Rosenberger Weast. She had 7 brothers and sisters, all who preceded her in death:
--Andrew Weast,Pekin,IL,(served in the Civil War),
--Mrs.Lena Weast (Lewis) Phillips, El Paso, IL,
--Mrs. Mary (William) Altman, Los Angeles, CA,
--John Weast, Carbon Co, Montana. (He laid out the
original town of Benson,Woodford Co,IL in 1860s).
--Peter A. Weast, Peoria, IL, a well known and prominent businessman and landowner in Peoria--Weast Theater and Golden Palace Saloon and cafe, 1880s-1910s, Retired in LA, CA.
--Joseph Weast, Peoria, IL,
--Henry C. Weast, Peoria, IL

Barbara E. Weast married Jerome Bonapart Renne, in Benson, Woodford Co, Ilinois, on November 26, 1879. They moved to Los Angeles California about 1882. He died a couple of years later.

--Married in California: The following concerning the marriage of a sister of Mrs. Mary Altman, of this city, is copied from the Los Angeles (California)Daily Times of September 10:
"The marriage of Mrs. Barbara E. Renne and J. B. Robertson was solemnized Tuesday at noon at the residence of the bride, Nos. 496-498 California Street, by Rev. C. K. J. Jones of the Church of the Unity.
"Miss Lily Newell Kimball and Dr. Lockman stood with the contracting parties. The bride was attired in a tan-colored traveling dress. Mrs. Robertson has been long and favorable been in G.A. R. and fraternal circles.......
The honeymoon will be spent at San Diego and Coronado, and on the return of the couple they will occupy their elegant new house at the above address, being at home on and after October 1."
