Mr. Mullinicks passed away from lung cancer on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly. He was an avid fisherman, duck hunter, sportsman and a friend to all. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He fought a courageous battle for two months with lung cancer and died peacefully at home with his wife at his side.
Tommy, a lifelong resident of Humphreys County, retired as a control room operator for DuPont in New Johnsonville. He served in the Tennessee National Guard, and was a member of the Kentucky Lake Bass Anglers, Humphreys County Bass Club and a Willow Ridge golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Mullinicks of McEwen; daughter, Jeanna Mullinicks Koivula and her husband, Mark of Dickson; John T. "Tom" Mullinicks Jr. of Dickson; brother, James O. "Jimmy" Mullinicks Jr. and his wife, Retha Rae of McEwen; devoted mother-in-law, Jean Rye of McEwen; grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas Koivula, Alexander Paul Koivula and Anna Marie Koivula; and one niece, two nephews and a host of loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oscar Mullinicks Sr. and Effie Marie Johnson.
