McClellan R. Diehl of 121 East Fourth Avenue, one of the charter members of the Trinity Reformed church and one of the most active members of the congregation. died at his home at 1.55 o’clock this morning of a complication of diseases from which he had suffered since last November.
He was born at East Freedom Dec. 18, 1861, a son of Jonas and Mary (Hengst) Diehl and was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Eakens in 1885.
He entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad company in 1882 as a machinist carpenter, serving In that position since. He was a charter member of the Trinity Reformed church and his death leaves but one living charter member. He took a very active part in the work of the church and during his membership had held practically all of the various offices in the church and Sunday school. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Harry McClellan of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Ceylon B. Romig of this city, and Mrs. Lavier Ritter of South Lakemont; one son, William H. H. Diehl of this city, and eight grandchildren.
The following sisters also survive: Mrs. Caroline Trout and Mrs. Catherine Adams, both of this city, Miss Alice Diehl of East Freedom, and Mrs. Herbert Handcuff of Williamsburg.
