1860 census for Rapides parish show her 13 yrs, with George & Nancy, in 1910 in Calc. census she married to John Lanier and was 61 yrs old and living next door to her daughters husband and his second wife Dora. In 1920 Calc. census still same place. Their daughter Ellora Fair Lanier married William Young and had several children before she died in 1908. William Young later married Dora, all of their graves are at Hamilton Cemetery in Grant La. Ellora and William had lost 4 children before she died and all are buried in a family plot with very nice headstones. I believe that William took care of Ellora's parents until the died. There are a lot of Young living in the Grant area and believe there might be some of their descendents are still there. The graves seem to be cared for. If some of the descendants are still there they might have some history from Catherine on what happened to George because Catherine was next to the oldest. Catherine's granddaughter, Nelda Cloud Ponthieux, Annie Young was her mother. Annie was the granddaughter of Catherine, which raised her after her mother Ellora died right after she was born. She and Catherine where very close and Annie is buried next to Catherine. William and Dora had an affair and had 2 children before Ellora had any, they were Lola and Dick. They had Bufford, Gracie, Johnnie M. Woodroe, and Alice after they were married in 1909. These where found in the 1920 census. Nelda's husband Wilbur told me that Annie had told them that Catherine had poor circulation in her legs and had them amputated at different times before she died. One leg was amputated at home on the kitchen table. She must have been a very strong woman. She lived until she was 87 yrs. Catherine and John Lanier owned a section of land (160 acres) in Allen Parish near Sugartown and Grant. Most of the land is still owned by gggrandchildren.
