CHERRY CREEK - Sharon A. Markel, 60, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at her home in Titusvillle, Fla. Mrs. Markel was previously from Cherry Creek, N.Y.
She was born Nov. 1, 1948 in Gowanda, N.Y., the daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn (Ingersoll) Leach.
She is survived by her husband Richard (Dick) Markel of Titusvillle, Fla., whom she married on Feb. 22, 1969, in Kennedy, N.Y.; her mother, Evelyn Leach of South Dayton, N.Y.; three sons: Todd Markel of Bradenton, Fla., Travis Markel of Prince George, Va., and Troy Markel of Titusville, Fla.; her sister, Joan Nobles of South Dayton, N.Y.; and two grandsons Zach Litchfield and Alex Markel.
Sharon will be remembered as a homemaker and for her love of family. She also enjoyed crafting and traveling.
A memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Balcom Corners, South Dayton, N.Y. The Rev. Bruce Fish of the Cherry Creek - Leon United Methodist Church will be officiating.
Friends will be received prior to the service at the funeral Chapel on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Health First, 1900 Dairy Road, West Melbourne, FL 32904
