CALHOUN CITY – Annie Ruth Barnett, 75, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at the Calhoun Health Services Nursing Home. Formerly of Vardaman, she was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Calhoun County. She was a retired employee of Kellwood Company and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
Services were held Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at New Liberty Baptist Church of Vardaman with the Rev. Jeff Harmon officiating. Burial was in the New Liberty Cemetery. Pryor Funeral Home of Calhoun City was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Hill (Jamie) of Vardaman, Judy Birmingham (Burt) of Okolona and Donna Longest (Scott) of Water Valley; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Barnett; her parents, Andrew Vanlandingham and Lula Parker Vanlandingham; and a brother, Leroy Vanlandingham.
Pallbearers were Burt Birmingham, Scott Longest, Jamie Hill, Spencer Hill, Johnny Kakales, Ethan Longest and Lucas Birmingham.
