Mrs. Lois D. "Dude" Reeves, age 91 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009, at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield.
Born Thursday, December 6, 1917 in Sherwood, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Colonel Sidney Robinson and the late Dora Lee Mathews Robinson. She was the wife of the late J.W. Reeves. She was also predeceased by her son, Terry Ray Reeves, 5 brothers, George Robinson, Homer Robinson, Haskel Robinson, Calvin Robinson and Julanna Robinson and one sister, Lillie Mae Robinson Fogger.
Mrs. Reeves owned and operated Reeves Grocery Store in Laurel Heights for over 50 years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Winnfield.
Surviving are her step-son, Neal Reeves, grandson, Jessie Ray Reeves, granddaughter, Deanna Sutton, step-grandson, David Reeves, sister, Letha Robinson Cathey, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many close friends.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield with the Rev. Jack Jones and the Rev. Kenneth Tarver officiating. Interment will be in Garden Of Memories, in Winnfield, LA under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
James Sandifer, Jimmy Sandifer, Wayne Sandifer, Tony Sandifer, Glen A. Fogger and Steven Fogger will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Sandifer, Caleb Sandifer, Mike Dempsey, Mark Malone, and Michael Durbin.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 and on Thursday from 8:00 AM until service time at Southern Funeral Home.
