Charles son of John Waskow & Martha Wrieth, married Agnes Doty. After receiving his early schooling in the public schools he took to the lakes, working on lake freighters, a tradition in the Waskow family. In June 1918 Charles enlisted for service in World War I in Company C, 105th Engineers and were engaged in hauling supplies on the canals of France. He returned on July 7, 1919 and shortly became a member of the city of Two River's first paid fire department. In 1935 he was forced to retire as injuries contracted overseas resulting in the amputation of one of his legs. Thanks Charlie !
