Mrs. Samantha J. Jonston, 82, 115 12/ North Main avenue, died at 12:45 pm Monday in Wilson Memorial Hospital. She had been in ill health for some years. The deceased was born July 17, 1867, in Versailles, a daughter of Peter and Martha Frees. Her marriage to J. A. Johnston was solemnized on January 16, 1890. He preceded her in death in 1928. A son, Lee, 321 Jefferson street, survives. Mrs. Paul Montavon, Chillicothe, Bales Johnston, Mrs. Dale Nevin, Robert Johnston, Rosalyn Johnston, Sidney are the grandchildren. There are two great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. William Agney, Versailles. Mrs. Johnston was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and active in the various women's organizations of that church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm from the Dearth funeral home. Rev. Edwin Allender of the Church of Christ will officiate with burial in Greenlawn cemetery, Versailles.
