GEMMILL CLUGGAGE DAVIS:

Gemmill Cluggage Davis was born Dec 2, 1898, the sixth child of Jacob Gemmill Davis who descends from Revolutionary War veteran, Bartholomew Davis.

He graduated from Altoona High School in 1917, where he met his sweetheart, Helen Steel Gehret Davis. Gemmill graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B. S. in Civil Engineering.

Gemmill Davis married Helen Steel Gehret on Dec 20, 1922. They had a daughter and a son.

He served in World War I as a Private in the Army. He was Enlisted Oct 9, 1918 and was Discharged Dec 16, 1918.

Gemmill was a Civil Engineer for the Pennsylvania State Highway.

He was also known as "Pop" to his grandchildren.

Gemmill Davis is survived by a daughter and 5 grandchildren.
