Albert H. Ellis was born in Leaf Valley township, Douglas county, March 31, 1877, the son of Willard B. and Hannah Groseneck Ellis. In Nov. 1905, he was united in marriage to Ida Sarah Ullman, and since their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis made their residence in Alexandria. Five children were born to this union, two sons having preceded their parents in death. Mrs. Ellis preceded her husband in death on June 16, 1955. Mr. Ellis passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 23, at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 22 days.
Surviving are two sons: Arthur and John Ellis of Alexandria; one daughter, (Laura) Mrs. Arnold Larson of Parkers Prairie; and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are one brother, Willard Ellis of Alexandria; three half-brothers: Robert Wangerin of Leaf Valley, Louis Wangerin of Garfield, Theodore Wangerin of Forada; and one half sister, (Dora) Mrs. Carl Zinter of Parkers Prairie. He was preceded in death by his wife, two infant sons, one sister, two brothers, one half brother and one half sister.
