DEATH OF LITTLE NELLIE STRONG

There passed to its final rest at an early hour last Sunday morning one of the sweetest little children that ever gave joy to or awakened the promise of a bright future in a parent's heart. Little Nellie, the adopted daughter of Rev. and Mrs. D. G. Strong, died at one A.M., March 26th, after an illness of about two weeks. Very precocious, and possessing all the attractions of childhood to an eminent degree, she was the pride of her foster parents and greatly beloved by all of the people. She leaves a little brother, Nattie [Nathaniel], aged seven, also adopted by Mr. And Mrs. Strong, who will be sent to his relatives in Ohio next week. The friends and acquantances of the family tender their heartfelt sympathies in the sad affliction.

Nellie B. Strong was born in Defiance, Ohio, Jan. 25, 1871. The names of her parents were Backus, both of whom died when Nellie was quite a babe. Mr. And Mrs. Strong buried heir own little girl only a few months before and were induced to adopt Nellie as their own child, which they did on the sixth of the following April, when she was only ten weeks old. Unfortunately the child inherited a scrofulous disposition which manifested itself by external eruptions on different parts of her person. Her recent sickness and death were consequences of the same malignant chronic affection - this time manifesting itself internally, attaching the mucous membrane of the lungs, intestines and the head, inducing violent dilirium and death. Her remains will be taken to Boise city and buried in the Masonic cemetery. The surviving members of the family go by this morning's state, while the corpse will be taken by MR. McClintock in the care of J. W. Brown.
