Burley- Doris Hunter Sutton, 67 year old Burley resident died Wednesday, September 14, 1994, at her home in Burley. She was born January 24, 1927, in Oakley, the daughter of Edward and Emerald Poulton Hunter. She attended Oakley High School and later the LDS Business College. She married Marion Rich "Sutty" Sutton on February 21, 1946, at Salt Lake City, Utah. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1990. They resided in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Burley prior to moving to Ontario, Oregon, where her husband owned and operated Big O Tires. She enjoyed her family, painting, and arts and crafts.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Rick and Pat Sutton of Boise; two daughters and son-in-laws, Debi and Dan Davis of San Jose, California; Tami and Joe Conley of Kuna; three grandsons, Jeff Davis serving an LDS mission in Italy, Joey Davis of San Jose California, and Cody Conley of Kuna; two grandaughters, Jeni Davis of Rexburg and Jessica Davis of San Jose, California; three sisters, Klea Sutton of Ogden, Utah, Hazel Critchfield of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Lou Rudy of Wyoming. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Keith, Harold, and Sam Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 11;00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 1994, at the Payne Memorial Chapel, 221 West Main in Burley, with Bishop Ken Redder, officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery near Oakley. There will be no public viewing. Friends may call at Payne Mortuary one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.
