Children L to R 1. Edna Hammons Proctor 2. Radie Hammons Gorman 3. Emely Maude Hammons (Grandmother) 4. Olen Hammons. Back person Loma Burton Hammons. Ellen Walker developed Polio and sent to the state institution in 1915. She is missing from the picture. He married Sarah Graham in 1917 and they had twins Albert and Alfred Hammons. Loma died in 1919 when he was shot in the back of the head by his second wife, so this picture had to be taken in 1916. Albert's daughter and my mother said that Sarah ran off and left the family in the Ozarks and took all everything with her. She did not even leave a cup for the kids to drink from. I talked to Albert's daughter and she said her grandmother was not a nice person.

Well, I guess what the family said whitewashed the incident. turns out She shot her husband in so called self defence. Her twins who knew her said she was a vain sedicius person who mistreated everyone, and lived alone. They said she was mean which probably means it was premeditated murder. She was in jail for more then six months, which means that it was neighbors who stole all the furniture.
