Funeral services for John J. Koehler, 85, of Hilbert, were held Tuesday at the Kapitzke Funeral Home, Hilbert, and at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hilbert.
The Rev. Alfred Loehr, pastor, officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Koehler, who died Saturday after a lingering illness, was born at Hilbert, March 2, 1878, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Koehler. He retired from farming 20 years ago and worked for the Calumet Cheese Co. for 11 years.
He was married to Catherine Mirsberger April 5, 1904 at St. John. After her death Mr. Koehler married Anna Novak at Reedsville Aug. 21, 1943.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Parish at Hilbert, the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Irma) Anheier, Hilbert, and Mrs. Hugo (Marie) Jungers, Dacada; a son, Alvin, Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Jacob Schmidlkofer, Kaukauna, 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
