Mr. Johnson was born and reared in St. Maurice. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church for more than 50 years. He was a carpenter by trade and at the time of his death was supervising the construction of a residence for his daughter, Mrs. Sam Grappe, Clarence.
Surviving are the widow; five daughters, Mrs. J. P. Rambin, Campti, Mrs. Jo Anna Clemmons, Washington, D. C.; Mrs. J. G. Felker, Los Angeles, Calif; Mrs. B. L. Wallace and Mrs. Grappe, both of Clarence; two sons, W. C. of Los Angeles and Garland of Camp Beauregard; his mother, Mrs. Lou Johnson and a sister, Mrs. J. E. Strickland, both of Montgomery.
