Mrs. Horace C. (Leona Elizabeth) Woody, 73, of a resident of Newton since July, 1978, and longtime resident of Jasper County. died at the Embassy Manor Care Center.
Mrs. Woody had been the Reasnor telephone operator for many years.
Funeral services were be held at the Wallace Funeral Home.
Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Palo Alto Cemetery.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs Darrell (Mildred) Cox of Newton and Mrs. Beryl (Marjorie) Sharp of Des Plaines, Illinois; six grandchilden; nine great-granchildren; and a brother, Howard Dearinger of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Roy Lust and second husband; Horace Woody, February 23, 1979.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
The daughter of Arthur I. and Maggie Ver Steeg Dearinger, she was born July 1, 1910 in Jasper.
She married to Horace C. Woody February 2, 1963 in Ollie.
