ONEIDA-Barbara Jean (Herringshaw) Hudson, 81, a lifelong resident of Oneida, NY, passed away March 2, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.Born in Oneida, on July 1, 1940, she was the daughter of William C. and Laura Cheseboro Herringshaw. A lifelong resident of Oneida, she attended Oneida High School. She was married to Allen Wayne Hudson. Mr. Hudson passed away on February 23, 2001.Barbara worked for many years as a sorter for Oneida Limited. She loved to spend time at Turning Stone, watching classic shows on TV and spending time with her family.She is survived by her children, Thomas (Jennifer) Boylan of West Palm Beach, Charles Collins of Oneida, and Terri (Sidney) Grant of Chittenango. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren (her "babies"): Brent Grant, Heather (Collins) Ross, Joseph Jamieson, Elizabeth Boylan, Stephen Boylan, and Seth Boylan. Also surviving are her siblings, Kenneth Herringshaw, Jean James with whom she had a close relationship, Shirley (Tena) Herringshaw, James (Rita) Herringshaw, Frederick Herringshaw and companion Linda Barlow, Linda Melisko, Debbie Herringshaw and companion Terry Messenger, Edmund (Shawn) Chase; a brother-in-law Gene Schara, and numerous nieces and nephews.Barb was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Hudson, parents, William and Laura Herringshaw, and siblings, William Herringshaw, Pat Schara, Helen Chase, Nina Petrie, Ted Herringshaw, and Robert Herringshaw.Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday (4/2/22) from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, 260 Main St., Oneida. Interment will be made in Oneida Castle Cemetery.
