Services for Nita Faye Baker, 71, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at West Athens Baptist Church with the Rev. James Greer officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Park under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Mrs. Baker died Feb. 7, 1999, in Tyler at Mother Frances Hospital.

She was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Oakdale, La., to the late Leslie William and Tennie Hines Ridgaway. She had been a resident of Athens for the past 50 years and was a member of West Athens Baptist Church.

Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Baker in 1988; a daughter, Donna Trammell in 1982; a brother, Dale Ridgaway; a grandson, Mark Walker; granddaughter, Staci Wilcox; and a great-grandson, Brandon James Wilcox.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Diane Baker, Danny Baker, Donny and Jeanne Baker, Brent and Chelee Baker, Larry and Pat Baker, all of Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Kenneth Craig, Gail and Harvey Walker, Linda and Dwayne Crabtree, Judy and Kenneth Graham, Cheryl and Eddie Cade, Sheila and Dennis Stepp, all of Athens and Debra Mills of Cross Roads; brothers, Bert Ridgaway of Port Arthur, Clarence Ridgaway of Mauriceville; 37 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Kenneth Craig, Harvey Lynn Walker, Andy Kinabrew, Russell Baker, Michael Crabtree, Brian Crabtree, Ronnie Crabtree and Kevin Walker.

Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Baker, Josh Baker, Matt Stepp, Tommy Cade, James Glenn Baker, Stephen Wilcox, Canyon Lindley, Jamie Holt and Greg Holt.
