A Pioneer of rural Custer County, Nebraska, near Westerville about 1890. He answered the final call at the home of his son, A. C. "Kirk" Parmenter in Broken Bow. While he had not been ill, he has been growing feebler with his advancing years, while he has been able to be about until recently. Carey W. Parmenter had reached the advanced age of 73 years, 10 months and 9 days. He moved with his parents to Indiana in the early 1870's and from there to Nebraska, settling in Saunders Co., near Yutan. He was united in marriage in that county on November 21, 1880 to Malinda A. Hyatt. To this union, four children were born, Mrs. Dora Campbell of Chester, West Virginia, A. C. Parmenter of Broken Bow, Clarence Jerome who died in infancy, and Mrs. Edna Moody of Grand Island. He leaves of his father's family four brothers Willie of Yutan, Nebr, Andrew of Lincoln, Nebr., Wilson of Denver, Co. and Grant of Michell, Nebr., also two sisters Mrs. Mary Miller of Ashland, Nebr. and Mrs. James Perrine of the western part of the state
