Eleanor (Kennedy) Accaputo, age 84, of 1207 Heatherwood, Yarmouth Port, formerly of Sandwich and Randolph, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2009 at her daughter's home in Brewster surrounded by many loving family members.


Eleanor, the daughter of Julia and Thomas Kennedy, was born July 12, 1925, grew up in Holbrook, attended Holbrook High School, and graduated from Fisher College in Boston.


She had many fond memories of her time in the city and wouldnt miss a dance during the war years at the area USOs. Eleanor married the late Lawrence OConnor of Randolph and is survived by their five children, Karen OConnor of Brewster, Kevin OConnor of Pembroke, Lawrence OConnor of Bridgton, ME, James OConnor of Little Compton, RI, and David OConnor of Falmouth. In 1981, she married Anthony Accaputo, and they retired to Sandwich, where she was involved in a number of volunteer activities.


Eleanor and Tony enjoyed many loving, fun-filled years together on the Cape and Rotunda, Florida until his death in 1998. Eleanor enjoyed traveling, spending time on the beaches of Cape Cod and Florida, and being with friends and family. She was a happy, positive person who was full of fun and enjoyed life to the fullest. Eleanor was always ready with a beautiful smile, a funny comment, and an open heart.


Besides her immediate family, Eleanor also leaves twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Marjorie Ayers of Venice, Florida.


Calling hours will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road (Route 28) Marston Mills on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Hope Chapel, Rte 6A, West Barnstable, on Wednesday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m.
Burial Services will be held at the National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
