Mr. Allen was killed last Tuesday afternoon while acting as a flagman for highway construction just south of Alvord on Highway 81 to Decatur. He was struck by a six wheeler truck and his body was badly mangled.
Bridgeport Odd fellows Lodge 90 and Boyd Lodge 50 conducted graveside services. Mr. Allen was a member of the Bridgeport lodge for over 47 years.
Pallbearers were Jim Whatley, Joe McElhaney, Gene Chambers, Fred Brevins, Riley Erwin, and Robert Moody.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mamie Allen, Sunset, one son, Floyd W. Allen, Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. V. L. Earp, Fort Worth; and Mrs. Lewis Walker, Sunset, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
