Monroe-- Tone Aalbers
Tone Aalbers, 74, resident of monroe since 1969 died Saturday evening at his home in Monroe.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Presbyteria Church in Monroe. Rev. Douglas Mabel of Newton former paster of the church, and Elder Arthur Nichols of Knoxville will conduct services. Burial will be in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions to a fund in Mr. Aalbers' name may be left at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.
Survivors are his wife, Bessie; six sons, Fred, Dick & L. Bruce all of Monroe,Iowa; Russell of Taylor, Michigan, Jerry of Pella, Iowa and Larry of Olympia, Washington; five daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Shirley)McGregor of Reasnor, Iowa. Mrs. Ron (Mary) Scherer of Des Moines, Iowa; Betty Aalbers of Pella, Iowa; Mrs. Melvin (Charlotte) Neely of Clinton, Oklahoma and Sally Foust of Norwalk, Iowa. 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Cade of Pella, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, nine brothers and a grandson Craig.
Mr. Aalbers was a member and elder of the Presbyterian Church in Monroe, Iowa. He had farmed for many years in the Monroe and Otley communities. The son of Marinus and Hattie Hols Aalbers, he was born 7 June 1909 at Eddyville, Iowa. He was married to Bessie Robinson 5 December 1928 in Pella, Iowa.
